Sunday Stealing... Long Time No Here.

Have you ever clicked on an ad on the side of your screen by accident?:      Oh god yes, frequently, however I get more and more perturbed that all of the adverts relate to things that I have recently looked at on line.  Most embarrassing when "Mature Men for Luscious Ladies " pops up.

Do you like the smell of rain?:    Adore the smell of rain.... The grass when it is wet smells soooo alive.

What was the last thing you took a picture of?:    A family on the beach see !

When you go to McDonald's, what drink do you usually get?:   Strawberry milk shake. No that is a lie.  I would like to get Strawberry Milk shake, but I find the milk fills my belly up  so I opt for Seven Up which makes me burp.

Name something negative that you hate about yourself:   My lethargy

Is your house currently hot, cold or just right?:   Currently Hot. AS UK in in middle of heatwave.

Is there a Dead End road near where you live?:   There are several Dead End Roads.  We live in a little housing estate of which there is only one way in and one way out, and they are not the same.   There are five dead ends, or as we prefer to call them "Cul De Sacs" with in shouting range.  Always possilble to find children.

Do you roll your eyes often?:   When I read Audio books, and the story says, "Claire rolled her eyes", I tend to roll my eyes at the same time.

Growing up, did you see your cousins often?:  I did. More often than my children see theirs.

Just another manic today....

Yesterday, mum was sunbathing in the garden and was looking at her kindle, and her chair collapsed backwards.

Her head hit the step of the patio, and her bum got stuck in the chair.

Unwilling to let the young, gorgeous next door neighbour witness her plight, she rolled around low, until she could creep in the house - all the while bleeding profusely from the wound on her head.

She phoned me.and said "are you busy".  I said "I am at work, I am always busy".

"oh", says she" That's okay.

What's wrong?

"I had an accident".

Thinking she had a car crash (because she's done it before.... a few times), I said "Oh god, where are you".

"In the house, I fell off the deckchair, my head is bleeding but it is at the back and I can't see it, and I wondered if you could come round and have a look, but if you are busy".

"Mum, I will get someone, I 'm on my bike... Please go and sit down, until I find someone".

"I'm going for a shower, I don't want anyone to see me with all this blood over me!!!"

Mothers!

Husband and Daughter got there, within minutes of each other and both made the same diagnosis.

Hospital

5 stitches later and an local anesthetic, and she was out having fun meeting with family .

Dearie me

Back on the Chain Gang...

Back on the bike after a two week absence... wow did my knees feel it.

I couldn't work out last week, why my knee was so sore!  It wasn't the fall from the previous week, but my god, i could barely bend it.   I hopped down the stairs, and filled myself up with painkillers, and muddled through the day.

It was only when I got in the car and the pain re-stressed itself, I realised it was the monumental amount of driving I had done on Wednesday which had set it off; so prompted stopped driving and refused to give anyone lifts.  Much better .

But anyways - back on the bike this morning, I couldn't not - it is a glorious day, and it would have been a proper shame not to use it.  I took my time, cause I left in plenty, and I still made in in 29 minutes.  My longest time, (when I started) was 36 minutes.  I've been as fast as.... 26minutes, so I haven't lost it!

Bella Bella, the bike, was happy for me to be back... She doesn't want to sit in the shed.  I think it need to blow her tyres a bit!

Strange but interesting

For three years, I have had a virtual relationship with J.

Friends, no more no less; he writes, I comment.  I write, he comments. Sometimes he proffers advice, but in the main, he laughs with me, and offers humour to my woes.

yesterday he told me "tomorrow I retire".

I couldn't understand how he could be retiring on a Sunday.

He works all over UK, and the world, on examining boards, but it turns out this is only a part-time job.  His other job, is a minister.

three years, of my declaring everything nul and void when it comes to  faith, and three years of not judging.

I do like him even more now.

Sunny Saturday Morning...

Well is afternoon now I suppose.  I have been quite productive already.

I checked the freezer. It has lots of chicken in it.  As Wee Devil says, I could have a street party for royal baby.

I have completed two washings and hung them out...

Had some coffee.

Cleaned the juice bottle rack. Put some rubbish in bin.

And developed a sore knee.

What is wrong with my knee...

Bending is a bit sore.

And again

Someone left me a comment yesterday, and I can't find it today.  No idea where it went.

But thank you very much for reading.

I am exhausted today.... I was at a Holyrood garden party yesterday... much excitement.  it was very lovely.

But I drove so much., home to edinburgh, (75 miles), Edinburgh to calander, 52 miles,  78 miles, plus a detour when I nearly fell asleep and ended up in Glasgow City Centre, instead of staying on the M8... ARGHHH
Added half an hour and 5 miles to my journey.  Raging.

Collapsed in a heap last night.

Still sleepy today.

you get days when your brain just ticks and ticks and ticks until it could possibly explode.

I have one of those days to day, and I am trying desperately hard to make my hard working brain contribute to something useful. like TIDYING the house.

It's a Cold, Cold Country

Relief all round when I managed to get in touch with the energy supplier yesterday and sort out my number dyslexia which seen my Energy consumption for the month triple from the month before.... they didn't question it, they just upped my monthly payment, by three.... I didn't question that, I just thought it was as a result of their prices increasing.

So laughs all round at both of our incompetence.

Is freezing this morning, but having analysed the bills so intently over the last couple of days, I'll be damned if I'm going to put the heating on in the morning.

My Best Holiday

My Menorca Villa are running a competition to find the winner of the "My Best Holiday" competition... it got me thinking, which was my best holiday?

The last holiday I spent with my Mum and Dad could arguably be my best holiday.  It started off as what I thought was going to be my worst nightmare.

"We've booked one last holiday for you to come with me and your dad", said mum.  "two weeks in a hotel in Menorca - a room for three".  At 17 the very prospect of two weeks in a tightly enclosed place with both my parents was the stuff of nightmares!

Mum worked part-time in a little travel agents and had gone to great lengths to book the cheapest flights, and phoned the hotel personally to organise it.   We set off on the day, my heart was half happy at the prospect of sun, half terrified at having to share with both parents....   The plane was delayed by 3 hours.  Good Start.  When we arrived, of course we had no agents to direct us to buses to get us to the hotel... We got in a taxi and my Dad spoke in the Local Tongue to get us to Punta Prima.... by local tongue, I mean his version, shouting at 10 decibels louder  that required in broken English.  The taxi driver looked in his mirror and raised his eye brows.   I looked out the window and wished I was somewhere else.

When we arrived, we were so late, the hotel had decided that we weren't coming and had let our room to someone else.   They had no other rooms.  We looked so dejected they started to phone round and find something for us; but then the manager appeared and advised that due to their error, he had found something that we hoped would be suitable.   He walked us a little way across the road from the hotel, and into a beautiful lush garden, he guided us to the side of a building and up a flight of stairs, dripping in clematis... and honeysuckle.  And opened the door to the two bedroomed villa which he "hope would suffice" for the holiday.

Suffice?  This was luxury beyond anything we could have dreamed of.  There were balconies running round the whole building, there were two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining room, and our own bathroom.    We tried to look "slightly" disappointed at not being in the hotel.... and waited until he was gone and then jumped around like children.

The rest of the holiday was a dream, a wander to the hotel for coffee and bread in the morning, a walk onto the beach for some sun and some swimming.  Lunch on the beach side restaurant which played "J'taime" on a regular repeat.

An afternoon siesta, a wander to the hotel for evening meal, and drinks on the balcony listening to the crickets in the garden.

A great holiday, and great memories of time with mum and dad.

Sunday Stealing......

1. Where was your profile picture taken?   My profile picture is Dogwithnobrain.... Dylan, long gone from us, was a lovely, lovely doggie, with very little, in fact, absolutely no brain. 8. Are you a bad influence?  I used to be... I so used to be... and I loved it.  I took a bank full of married / engaged ladies to a strip show for a Hen NIght and I was branded "Scarlet Woman".... And the husbands/ partners were terrified of me. :-)

9. Night out or night in?  I'm getting old.....  Night In :-) Thank you.

5. Have you ever found yourself sexually aroused by someone that you absolutely should not have been?  Yes, I had a very bad dream last night I am still wiping bleach thru my hair.
