Sunday Stealing ...... On a Sunday.

1. What did you want to be when you were little?    I wanted to be a teacher.    Always.   I left school and went straight into the bank. Hated it.

Went to College, trained to be a teacher.  Worked as a Restaurant Manager for 2 years, completed my post graduate and became a teacher.  Once I was qualified there were no positions in my subject.  Fate has a funny way of dealing you a hand.

2. Would you prefer to have a large group of friends, or a small group of friends? Why?   Small group of friends.  The larger the group the more scope for bitching.

3. What is your fashion “style”? Or what type of clothes do you wear on a daily basis?    Casual verging on Lazy.  Although It is my intention to be more "adult" at work this year.

4. If you could live anywhere where would you live?   I am more than happy where I am.  I would like new windows, replaced Facia and guttering and an extension, but other than that, where I am is perfect.

5. What is your biggest hope for the next year?   That my son is successful in his last year at university.  That my daughter is happy in her second year at Uni.  That my husband and I continue to be together and in love.

6. When you pass by reflective surfaces do you check yourself out?   No, this is something that I know for sure, because I went to bed the other night, and sat on my husband side of the bed.   Our bathroom mirror is currently sitting  against the wall on his side, and I glanced in it, only then realising that I had spent the day with my hair scraped back in a hairband I had forgotten I had stuck on.  (This is not me)

7. Favorite genre of movie as well as TV show?    Oh, something that makes me think, and laugh, and smile, and maybe  cry.  I like a variety of emotions.

8. Top favorite books? (limit of 5)   Outlander, Diana Gabaldon, A Big Boy Did it and Ran Away, and The Fine Art of Stealing, and All Good Fun until Somebody loses an Eye all three by Christopher Brookmyre, and the Wasp Factory by Iain Banks.
9. Have you ever taken a cooking class?   Yes, I flipping well have.  I took a hostess cookery class in 1987 when my husband was at sea for six months.  I thought I would be prepared to cook beautiful meals for him when he came back. But it was all fancy nancy stuff - spun sugar, and chocolate shapes.  Even better - I was doing the Cambridge Diet and couldn't taste any of it.  On the last week,  was finally off.  What did we do?  funny shaped veg.
10. What three words would you use to describe yourself?
A Bit Fat
A Bit Funny
A Bit Mad
A Bit Nice
A Bit Soft
A Bit Quiet
A Bit Noisy
A Bit Psychotic

11. Favorite animal?   Doggies. But I am allergic to them awfully, am also allergic to cats, but not quite so much, so we have two cats.

12. What is your dream job?   See number one above.  I am actually a brilliant, inspirational teacher.   Maybe I shouldn't have been subject based.  Maybe I should have gone for general teaching diploma.  Aw Well.   Also - I hate kids, so is a difficult one to balance.  :-)

13. If you could go back in history to any moment that you did not live, what would it be and why?
I would love to go back to the 1745 uprisings in Scotland.  See how pathetic that Bonnie Prince Charlie really was.

14. If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?   The power to fix the weather.
15. What is your favorite movie?   Lots of favourite movies, but Shawshank and Dogma I would watch time and time again.

16. What is your best childhood memory?   Playing "Dens" up the park.  The park was an old wasteland behind my house, which is now a housing estate where my mum lives.  Her house is probably right on top of where the Den was.

17. What is your favorite part about blogging?   Expressing my messy head.

18. What is your favorite quote?   Live, Love, Laugh

19. What song do you feel like describes your life the best? Why?    Girls Just Wanna Have Fun....

20. Would you describe yourself as shy or outgoing?    Shy, with a very good cover up story.

  1. "Expressing my messy head." Love that. That is pretty much the biggest thing, isn't it?

  2. I like the "shy with a very good cover story"! I got into the Diana Gabaldon series, and somehow fell out of it. I have the latest, I think. I should read it. Oh, I do love that Jamie. Sigh...

    1. I am "listening" to Outlander today on Audio books. Quite tragic. I wish they had used a man for Jamies' voice.

    1. Hmmm, they didn't load for me either... I think maybe because I copied and pasted. I have stuck some new ones in.... not which make any sense what so ever, but it breaks the words up :-)

  5. I can see all your pictures. And since you hate kids, I guess teaching wouldn't have been a good thing. Well, I guess you could always teach adults. As long as you got a class that didn't act juvenile!

    1. Ooh, that sounds awful. I don't really hate kids. I hate kids who ..... well you probably know the type I mean, and in Schools around here there are many of them. I did go into Further Education, believing that I would be faced with only Adults who wanted to learn... little did I know of the Government plans for no Benefit for 16-18 year olds unless they attended college and received a bursary. Still I like to think that they did learn something from me, even if it was that education allowed me to be far wiser and more able to respond more intelligently than they could understand.
