O MG IT'S DECEMBER

I can't believe that we have reached December - the middle of it and I haven't been back.

Just had to visit the loo very quickly there. Something not good happening in my belly.

Yeuk.

There's Something in My Attic

Was lying in bed last night waiting for Si to finish his abulutions, there was a noise up above me, a kind of scurrying. Erm. Do mice move into the Attic?

Si came thru and listened and he heard it too. I think he was quite impressed. I lay there for ages and ages staring at the ceiling in the dark.. You know how you do that... even tho you can't see anything and waited. I never heard anything else.... but I was waiting for it. Si says he will go up tonight for a look. He is a bit brave eh?

I'm meeting Kirst for tea tonight at North Gailes, and I've asked her to get a mouse trap for me from Tesco. Although I don't like the prospect of killing a wee mousy up in the attic and then having to remove its wee body.

A cat came into our garden last night and we all sat there and stared at it. It was so like Garp, our wee cat who died in the summer. We were all quiet and sat there thinking about her. Aw it was sad.

Si and Stevo went to pictures last night with Gran, Eilidh was at guides. I was running back and forward running the kids down, and then over to Irvine, and sat down for a wee while. Looking forward to my christmas holidays. Needing a long lie.

thankfully, it's Thursday

I meant to say... coincidence... I mentioned curling up with a good Christopher Brookmyre on Mon / Tues, and guess who No 1 son spent an hour with on Wednesday. Yep. The man himself. Isn't that cool. he was in the school to talk to the children about writing / reading and encouraging their imaginations. No 1 Kid was very impressed.

I also was very impressed. Enid Blyton never came to school when I was there.

Had a bad pain today. thought it might be appendicitis, but have used two sessions of Lynn's TENS machine and feeling a lot better now. I was on the floor tryin to relief the pressure a bit.

Very tired now. Yawn.....

Woefully Wet Wednesday

Flipping Hairies. Does the rain never stop. We've had it too good since March / April and now its started raining we are at a loss. It is so heavy and everything is sodden. I suppose is good for the garden.

Yesterday I was soooooo cold. I didn't want to go out again once I got in from work, but I had to go to a Guide Meeting, Kid No 2 is going to a camp and I had to go and get the lowdown on it. I managed to get back to the house and snuggle down with my knitting, watch the end of Spooks - o M G that programme is SOOOOOOO good. We had caught it with the Sky PLus. ALSO SOooooo Good. What did we do before Sky Plus.... I don't know! Can't live without it.

Kid No 1 didn't go out last night, but tidied his room - when I say tidied, he emtpied the floor into the washing basket, and what didn't fit in there he stuffed into his drawers. Mmmmm. Ah well at least I can walk across the floor without breaking my ankle now.

Woke up and dragged my body out of bed at about 6.45 this morning and crucified some bacon for No 1 and No 2 then showered. Feeling quite good. Cold almost all gone. No obvious side effects from Flu Jab. Maybe I won't have any more colds. That would be too good to contemplate.

Chilly Tuesday

Is tuesday and it is cold. Am not impressed. Told Lynn this morning, that I didn't do wind, and she agreed. I told her to stay in bed, but she turned up anyways.

Have been down to the bank and frooze my feet off. I really hate tights - stockings are better, but dangerous. But I think I'm going to have to go with it, cause my tootsies are freezing.

Knitted a couple of rows at lunchtime, and am going back to my accounts now. finalising tb and bs for October.

Yawnnnnnnnnnn

Monday Yawning

Back to work this morning. feeling fine apart from the sore back - I think I caught it off Lynn, and being tired. Yesterday I had a couple of Dizzies like which knocked me off the couch. Ouch. Not good. Still, feel fine this morning. No after effects from the Migraine.... I think Its well gone. And aparently no after effects from the flu jab either, apart from a rather ungainly lump on my arm.

Got a busy day ahead, and Mondays always seem to go really fast. You never quite get as much done as you were hoping for.

Am hoping that John (my broth-in-law), or Kirsty (lunatic) can come up with a placement for Stevo's pal Gord. Can't bear to think of him not having anything good for a week.

flipping migraine

woke up at 6 this morning with flipping migraine. head was bursting. went down stairs for knock out pills, only to barf them up about 45 minutes later. bummer. managed to get off to sleep again, and woke up with a start at 8.40. I had appointment for flu jab this morning. I'm not old - i've got asthma, so made Si drag me down and get me into the surgery. Got my jag, had a wee wander round the town - the cold weather with a migraine always helps.
Got home, rolled back into bed, and stayed there til 2.30 when I felt like I may be able to get up. Head is still rubbish, but not hurting quite the way it was before.
We took a quick drive to Ayr, visited MAnDS and TK Maxx and then came home. Just had a chinese which probably wasn't the cleverest thing to do when you are feeling crap, but there you go. I thought it might make me feel better!
Had a shower. Going to sit still and watch tv now and get on with the knitting.

november weather

I always think that November should be crisp and bright. Today is soggy and dark, and I don't do soggy and dark. I want to be cuddled up on the couch, with a mug of chocolate laced with brandy and a really bad magazine, or maybe a book by ChristopherBrookmyre. Instead, I'm sitting at my desk gazing out the window at the rain hitting the windows horizontally, the flags being pulled straight and the flag poles bending in the wind. For once, I'm glad that I don't look out over the water.

Re my hypnotising myself this moring Was lovely. End result was tho - that I was still in the shower when everyone left for work / school. Still I made it in on time, despite certain people telling me that I was "cutting it fine" huh! I was still in sharp.

I must still be a bit asleep. I don't remember writing before.

I can breathe

I wouldn't say my cold has completely gone, but I sent myself into a hypnotic trance this morning when I realised I had regained the ability to breathe thru my nose. I could hear the air zooming in and into my lungs, which was lovely, compared to the pounding of my heart in my ears which sent me off to sleep last, after keeping me awake for ages.

Stevie has toddled off on his paper round, and its really blowy this morning and dark. At least he put his lights on his bike before he left. He was cycling round in the dark yesterday.

Wonder if Gran has managed to access her blog yet. Must go and check.

the first one

i went back to work today after a couple of days in my bed. I can't believe how much better I feel. All is good except for the excess snotters up the nose, which I hope will go in a day or two.
I have to have flu jab on Saturday, i've heard it might make me feel not good. Hopefully not.
