Sunday Stealing

From By The Way Sunday, a now defunct meme blog.

Did anyone call you last night?    Hmmmm, not on a phone persay, but on Whatsapp.  My Mate K was Whatasapping me..  We met on Friday night for food.  Lots and lots of food, and we were discussing our Bottom burps.   we had been at a World Buffet.  Indian, Chinese, Thai, Italian, and muchos Ice Cream.

How late were you on the computer last night?     Pretty Late, though not as late as the night before. Boy is in America (that is my Boy, as in my son).  He is at University and playing Volleyball- and the volleyball season has started. Sadly, they play games at 7pm eastern Standard time.... I am just heading to bed then.  They are on a trip to Chicago, and were playing 2 nationally ranked teams. They pushed the first team to 4 sets, but were wiped out by the second team:-(   I sat up to watch them.

What did you have to eat last night?     Oh boy, this is good question.. I ate Beef Stroganoff. Not with brandy,my recipe did not include brandy, but it was very edible.  By my standards. Bearing in mind that my husband was a Chef in a previous life, I do not cook very often, and last night i wanted to make a special effort for him-)

Did you watch any good TV shows or movies last night?      I have taken to watching the box set of Misfits. It is in it's fifth and final year, and I have only just discovered it.    In a ten days,I have worked my way through all of series one and two,and the first couple of season three.

Did any news items stand out to you last night?    Is a horrific story, here in Scotland, currently;  a little boy went missing on Thursday Morning, hundreds of people went out looking for him, and then late on Friday night, they announced that they had found his body.   And then on Saturday; they charged his mother.  We cannot imagine what happen, nor know for sure what the charges are against her, but what distresses me is that the little boy had 4 brothers and sisters.   What of them now? What of their life without their mother and little brother?

Did you go out last night?   NO.... I am old now.   Am very unlikely to be going out in the evenings now.

What was the weather like last night?    Am not sure...  I don't think I looked out at all. It was kind of grey and misty all day.

What was the last thing you said last night?     I love you.   Always.

What time did you go to bed last night?   Eleven thirty.

  1. That is such a sad story about the little boy from Scotland. I live in Chicago and unfortunately we get a lot of those stories. In fact just last week there was a story on the news of a father who "found" his 7-year-old daughter, who had been brutally beaten, in an alley behind their house. He drove her to the hospital but she died. And as it turns out, he was arrested for her murder.

  3. So sad about the little boy. How can people do such horrible stuff to children?

I haven't made stroganoff in years. My recipe has dry red wine and lots of yummy spices. I am going to have to find that and make it soon. It would be delish one of these cold evenings.

  5. Good luck to your boy and his team. Oh, yes. It was terribly cold in Chicago!

On the tragedy: it's so bad that parents who are out of control don't just give the child to someone who wants him dearly, approved in court or by some other means. Little children sometimes just live through hell to grow up.
