The Interview

Ellajayebee was interviewed by Osbasso, the instructions are as under. I was intrigued, and I asked Ella to interview me! If you would like interviewed, Comment here..... and I'll interview you.

The Interview

In a twist on the blog-meme, there is the Interview that has been in several formats over the last few years. Osbasso is the latest one to bring it back into my circle and so here we go...

First, the rules:
  1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."

  2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

  3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

  4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

  5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

What is your favorite word? Gorgeous. I use this word about 10 times a day, at least. When I answer the phone, and someone says "how are you?", I say, "gorgeous", and they laugh. When someone comes into the office, and says "how are you today?", I say "Gorgeous". They smile, sometimes they look confused.... Now people who have met me on several occasions ask me, "how gorgeous are you today". There is truth in the school of thought, that if you say something often enough, it is true. I am gorgeous, in spirit if not (completely) physically.

What is your least favorite word? C*&T. I won't even write it. I know its slang, and a swear, but I hate it so much I won't use it. In a town close towhere my office is situated, this word appears to be used everyday to describe someone not in a derogatory way, but in the same way you would use the word, "baby", or "child". The number of times I have passed young groups of mothers and hear them ask each other "How's yours", and the reply is normally along the lines of "Lovely wee C&^t", or "cheeky wee C&^T". I know it is lack of education and ignorance that lets these woman refer to their children like this, but I think it is unacceptable and a terrible way for children to hear themselves referred.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually, emotionally?
The creativity of my husband is my turn on. I have complete faith in everything he turns his hand to and everything he turns his hand to is a complete success. His modesty in his ability warms my spirit. Emotionally, - My Children. They are my inspiration, every pain of labour was worth it when they achieve or celebrate in some way. This week has been a revelation - Tooli in Paris, having an absolute ball, the emotion that was pouring down the phone from her was amazing. Boy, firstly getting a conditional from a University, and then buying a car, and also - paying for the repairs to mine - I done good with them two.

What turns you off?
Toes. Perversion. Violence.

What sound do you love?
Silence. Maybe punctuated with water. River water, tap water, the ocean, waterfalls, the tide. There is so much to hear in Silence you could sit forever just listening. Best silence ever, was sitting outside our tent in Fisherground Farm in Eskdale. The children were sleeping, the fire was dying, and Si and I sat in the dark and listened to the silence. We could hear late night birds chirp, insects in the grass, little animals snuffling, the children snuffling, trees rustling in the late night breeze, a plane on a route far above our heads, murmurs from other campers close by, the crackle of the embers on the fire, each other breathing, and you could hear contentment all round.

What sound do you hate?
Constant noise - wherever the source drives me batty. If there is a noise in the background which is throbbing, - it doesn't have to be loud, but it is there. That sort of noise gets deep inside my head and knocks me off balance. I think it comes from my love of silence. A throb deprives me from hearing all the little noises I like.

What is your favorite curse word?
Buggar. I say this at work, probably as many times as I say gorgeous. I usually have a series of expletives which I repeat mantra fashion, "Buggar, bollocks, blast....." I apologise profusely for this, I do swear too much. Much to the delight of my son's friends. I must behave better. I am the worse behaved mother they have.

What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?
I would like to be a muscian. Imagine just playing an instrument for the enjoyment of other people, how great would that be? My children both play - Guitar, Boy plays Sax and Daughter plays Clarinet. I am amazed at the knowledge they have of crotchets, and minuets, and half quavers and semi quavers and different scales...... I used to play guitar, but had no ear, and unless the music was sitting two inches from my nose, and some one had hummed the rythm out to me, I couldn't hold a tune. Scales I could play. Oh Yes, I could play scales til my fingers bled, but put a tune together. Nope.

What profession would you not like to do?
Jees, I started answering this along the lines of food production and had to stop. Lets just say....... Sales. I would hate to sell... you have to lie so much, and take money off people who don't really have it for you to take. Bad vibes ALL day I would imagine.

If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
Hey Gorgeous, What Took You So Long... Let's Partaaaaay

Thanks Ella, I enjoyed!
